Anthony Holt & Sons go back three generations, established by Gil’s Great Grandfather Louis Holt in 1915. Louis was a clock and watchmaker based in Richmond, London. His son Anthony Holt inherited the business and began producing silver models and taught his son Gil the traditions and skills in the art of model making.
Gil has fond memories of working with his father – Anthony was a self-taught skilled model maker, producing his first-ever model of an 1860’s American Type Locomotive. This model is still in the family today, and Gil remembers playing with the model as a child, which inspired him to continue with the family business.
The work that Gil produces now for Anthony Holt and Sons is certainly on par with the extensive and intricate models created by his father Anthony.
Gil takes great pride in producing intricate luxury items these include sterling silver replicas of cars, planes, and yachts etc., custom made, watch, jewellery, valet and humidor bespoke wooden boxes. One of Gils proudest moments was being asked by Lord Bamford to renovate a sterling silver JCB excavator, which had been made by his father Anthony Holt in 1977.
Family ties and traditions still play a strong role in this ever-evolving family run business.
Gil has taken the family business from strength to strength He is a partner of Bugatti SpA and has produced commissioned work for world-class luxury brands, Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. Bentley Motor Cars, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Bombardier Business Aircraft and others.
